I haven't had a chance to use my certs yet (first time being Elite) but can I ask you to elaborate on the "any gate upgrade, including cert upgrade" part? I was under the impression that, assuming there is R space, one gets an upgrade at the 7/4/2 day window. In that case, wouldn't the upgrade be done days in advance and not at the gate?
When I wrote "gate upgrade" I was (obviously?) referring to the situation of an upgrade that was confirmed only at the gate, not one confirmed in advance.
If the upgrade is confirmed in advance then of course the meal should be there.
I was mentioning a scenario in which I either had a confirmed upgrade, or a revenue business ticket (I don't remember), and I stood by for an earlier flight at the gate.
