Ah, I did not know that. The CX instance was the first time that I ever had to use an endorsement. But I was under the impression that they had to give you the miles if the original flight would have accrued mileage. That's a good thing to know since I was offered another endorsement one time for a very long flight. I opted to just take the AA flight the following day because I had a connection.
