I don't understand the complaint either. Loyalty programs are supposed to reward those most loyal to the company, namely GS & 1K for UA. I understand the frustration of not clearing as low level elites, but can you imagine the frustration of a GS/1k not clearing the upgrade while a 2P/3P enjoy up front? From UA's point of view, who would you rather want to piss off? At least on UA, low level elites get E+, which lessens the blow of not clearing off waitlists.
