Yes, that's what I was hoping for. Not looking to save the mileage cost, just looking to voluntarily downgrade the domestic segment to get home 5 hours earlier.

May be moot, though, no "low" seats in coach either right now.

I wouldn't be looking to SDC on the international flight from London, just on the domestic connection. I guess the reason doesn't really matter, but I wonder why it's not allowed in a case like mine; if I'm back in the US following an international segment, why is my remaining journey not treated as domestic?

I was going to say I couldn't try the SDC at the Skyclub, not being a member, but if I do have a 7 hour layover at DTW, then a one-day pass seems like a great investment...
