Not to put to fine a point on it but...
on 8/21/01 at 3:27, from the thread you give above, the 'Voice' states "Point Conversions from hotel companies (such as Starwood) do count as 1 partner, but only if there are no
stays at hotels that are part of that company. If there are also hotel stays, then the point conversion would not count separately since it's considered the same partner as any one of the stays."

I interpret this to mean that all "part of the company" refers to brand hotels under the corporate (company) umbrella. This would mean that a stay at Doubletree and a transfer from HHonors would only count as one partner, not two; although Doubletree is not Hilton proper.

I also now assume, as others have stated, that multiple stays under the same corporate umbrella will count as separate partners even if you have a transfer from corporation WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE OF THOSE STAYS OR THE TRANSFER. In other words, one cancels the others out--but the rest count.
