I actually never check in at the AC, as I almost always travel with a ton of excess baggage.

One of the great things about living in a small(er) town: in AUS I rarely (if ever) need to show it as they tend to get to know their "regular" members.

I've found that in other places (especially DFW) they've been attempting to log in AAdvantage numbers. While I'd usually just kind of flash it on my way in, I'll rattle off my FF #, instead of making the requestor squint to see the card, as well if needed.
