What you claim to do in such situations doesn't always or even generally happen even when stuff like that does get manually searched by the TSA. The TSA pulling out adult sex toys and porn magazines in public view happens more often than a private screening room search of cabin baggage with adult sex toys and porn magazines.

The parent(s) cannot stop the TSA from pulling out into public view sex toys and porn magazines that come up during a manual search of someone else's cabin baggage in public view at the general screening checkpoint.
