I can't imagine that Vancouver is so lacking in decent cheese shops that some you lug around for ten days, unrefrigerated and in an uncontrolled environment in every other way, will be better when you get it home than what you could buy locally.

Bottom line: even absent the Canadian entry issues already mentioned, there are probably better things to bring back from France.
