Currency Fluctuations notice on website: what does it mean?
At MANY non-USA hotels, the website warns of "Special Conditions" which is:
"For non-US hotels, rates confirmed in USD may be converted to local currency by the hotel at your time of stay, based on the exchange rate used by the hotel and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations..."
Considering that the credit card company will reconvert the charge back into $US (for a charge) and that most hotel exchange rates suck, this seriously adds additional cost to the stay. If the rate is confirmed in $US it should stay $US!
What exactly does "may" mean??
