Technically midnight 4 days before - 10th April, call 0:01 6th April. However, even recently, I have managed calling at 8:30 MST the day before (ie 5th April) and getting the upgrade. If you just sound confident, don't ask, the agents usually don't say anything. And it doesn't hurt to try from YYZ just before leaving...
