Priceline shares winning bids - until March 31st

I just love the way Priceline takes valuable data that users want - and boldly share it through marketing campaigns.

This promo is called Big Deal Days and it basically lets us see winning bids on many cities (about a thousand).

This is nothing new, as Priceline already encouraged users to share their winning bids through Twitter and email, but in its scale its quite different. If the Twitter messages show about 20 messages a week, this database probably have several thousands of deals, which can also teach us something about where PL customers book and even learn about the scale of their booking - not an obvious thing to do.

I think this is quite a brilliant move by Priceline, as sharing winning bids is their own interest - it helps users know what to expect when bidding, it triggers interest and sparks a buzz, and it shows the massive scale of the product.

PL publish that this database would be there for this month alone, but I think they would be wise to keep it alive indefinitely.

What's your take on that?
