Was given an op-up on AF 26/DL 8358 on 21 November last year. This was kind of a circuitous way to the J cabin, though.

My original purchased fare from DL was a U fare NAP-FCO-JFK-BWI with FCO-JFK on AZ metal. Then AZ cancelled the flight and DL rebooked me into another U fare NAP-CDG-ATL-BWI with CDG-ATL operated by DL51.

But I decided to see if I could work a better itinerary out of DL, so I called SMS and was rebooked into an L fare NAP-FCO-CDG-IAD with CDG-IAD DL codeshare on AF. That was the itinerary that got me the op-up.

I don't know how much the week before Thanksgiving affected Y-cabin loads on AF metal, but Y was definitely oversold and I was handed a new J BP at the gate. Not a bad outcome considering I was originally booked into the Y-cabin on AZ.
