take the Airtrain to Jamaica - transfer to LIRR to Penn Station (or the E train to save a few bucks), transfer to 1 train at Penn Station - go to South Ferry, and you're at the Ferry

But that's REALLY taking you the long way around. Its not far by car, go south on Van Wyck, take the Belt westbound, and you're at the Verrazano bridge.
