Nope. Among my latest stays: Two Denver area Doubletrees, upgraded to a huge suite with balcony, and in one case to a suite with two-person tub

Homewood Suites in Denver area: Upgraded to a corner room two-bedroom at Homewood Suites.

Hilton Waikoloa, upgraded to a huge suite with two balconies.

Doubletree Alana, upgraded to Penthouse level (3 times)

Etc., etc.

Always greeted by name, always greeted as a returning guest at hotels stayed at before, extremely helpful assistance from "my" higher-up at Hilton, quick responses always from the Diamond Desk.

When I can book a $57/night basic room at a Doubletree and get upgraded to an oversized-Jacuzzi suite, I'm not complaining.
