Seats on the TG BKK-LAX flight are 170 degrees, not quite flat but pretty good. Far better than the old UA 747 C-seats, but not as good as the new UA 747 seats. Service on TG is far better in every way than UA. Plus this nice, long 14-hour flight to LAX will give you a nice, long sleep, instead of waking up just when you're getting comfy on the way from PVG to SFO.

I'd choose TG to LAX in a heartbeat rather than transiting to UA in PVG.
