I'm surprised that CO would say they can't do anything, b/c I think we both know, there is something that can be done. They can speak with their counterparts at 9L and get a handle on this.
The experiences were consistently bad all year; segments flown typically were PVD-EWR VV; EWR-RDU VV; EWR-PHL VV; EWR-PIT; CLE-PIT VV.

Typically I sit in 1B on the Dash 8- Q400; and, out of RDU on 12/28 - the FA was curt, rude asked me the three typical exit row questions that I answered politely. She then told me to read the Safety Card (none of the FAs have ever told me to do that) and I innocently said to my fellow passenger that this was probably my 40th flight on this aircraft. She overheard this, stomped back and proceeded to snap at me threatening to have me reseated.

I have also witnessed other FAs act unprofessionally to other passengers; on one flight out of PIT the FA used the intercom to snap at a passenger.

Just two simple examples;- I could write a dissertation on the rest of my experiences with them. Even the CO ground staff in EWR are less than pleased with Colgan's operations.

The Dash8 Q 400 & 200 are being used in these markets as, I understand, they break even with 50% plus load factors. The downside is that Colgan is operating them and parent CO needs to understand the people are going to go out of their way not to fly them.

Just yesterday CO sent me a revised itinerary for a trip to RDU and, since they switched me to all Colgan Air flights, I promptly called and asked for a full refund.
