Folks,

I do not know whether it it just me or something speical about MD80s but each each time I fly AA MD80, I feel a strong smell of gasoline fumes during taxi/on the ground.

Is this normal?? I remember reading an article about leaky seals in some plans and fumes in the cabin air. Sometimes this smell is strong enough to make me sick.

Since I have been flying mostly MD80s for last few months, I am not sure if this is specific to these plans. I travelled a few times on 320s and 777s in last couple of months and do not recall this semll though
