On arrival in CUN you have to exit the terminal to get back in to departures. Immigration said nothing of our immediate turnaround, but the security in departures didn’t like our MIA-printed boarding pass (it looked different) and was a real fuss getting through. They had to summon some bloke called Hector from Customs (no laughing) to say it was OK to let us through. No OneWorld lounge, so ate in the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.! Found the terminal very tacky and holiday-geared (understandable). Return flight to MIA was on-time and a 757 – but even more tired and with big old grey leather tub seats, and a filthy carpet up the front wall in front of row 1. Nuts and a drink were all that was on offer again.
