This is just my opinion but how about letting the airlines check for tickets at the gate the way it used to be and let TSA concentrate on screening people and bags. At many airports there are certain times of the day when the checkpoints are not very busy so why not let non flying visitors through security. Many airports have a great deal of retail
and resturants that should sure use this business. Keep the ticketed only policy through security during peak and busy times which will vary by airport.
