1. expand your Manhattan search parameters to include midtown east and west as well as upper manhattan, soho, wall st. and chelsea with your current bids
2. Increase your bidding, at least to what you're paying for Queens now. It's definitely worth it to stay in Manhattan vs. Queens for the same amount.
3. An added cost for breakfast in a Manhattan hotel should be a non-issue. You can get a bagel or breakfast sandwich for less than $3 all over midtown. Plus, you'll be paying far more for transportation to/from/within Manhattan if you're coming in from Queens every day.
Staying in manhattan would also mean that you could jump on an airport bus to midtown for $10 or $12 when you arrive rather than trying to navigate the subway to your Queens hotel.
Everything this post says is right on. Unless the goal of your trip is to explore the outer boroughs, you're going to have more time for the city and more options (for things like breakfast!) if you're staying in Manhattan. I know that area of Queens is a lot better than it was a decade ago, but it's still not the sort of neighborhood there are many activities in, other than to go back and forth to your hotel. Priceline Manhattan, all the way!
