Agree about your comments about central London pub food overall. Especially in the tourist places. I hate walking into a pub and seeing the exact same menu I saw at the last one - just set out differently on the page as if to try and hide it. (Wetherspoons is different - because you know it's a chain and what to expect).
I gave up pretty early on trying to get decent food at pubs in central London. Most tourists, unfortunately, probably form their opinion of British food by eating at a Wetherspoons or similar quasi-chain pub and thinking they're getting authentic British food.
