I lived two blocks away and know the area well. I am happy to advise on restaurants, etc.

What I'm not clear on (mostly because I'm not sure you are) is what you're hoping to get out of this trip. What do you usually do when you travel? Do you travel together or mostly separately?

If you're looking for specific (non-tourist) advice, it would help to know a little more.

Cheers!
In all honesty, we never really plan much in advance, as far as what we're going to visit. Like previously mentioned, we normally vacation in Halifax, and there's not a whole heck of a lot to plan for, unfortunately. Wherever one goes, the other always goes.

We're not hardcore tourists by any means (in fact, they normally drive me nuts.) We typically both like science museums, aquariums, zoos, with him liking art museums as well (and I have no problem going to them either, they're just not my preferred type of museum.)

We normally just go out and experience some sights of the city (like waterfront areas, and some historical areas and such.) We like walking through parks and such, like I believe he said we'd find on Toronto Island? We love hitting the theaters if there's any new movies out that we'd like to see. And of course, we enjoy shopping (or window shopping, anyway lol), so we will be sure to go through Eaton Centre several times.

I have gotten him convinced to go to the CN Tower with me, which seems to be the only real tourist trap we'll visit in Toronto. (We're willing to travel to other cities in the area if there are must see museums.) We're also planning on the Royal Ontario Museum, and Toronto Zoo.

As far as restaurants go, I like a variety of food, though he's rather picky. The big things he won't eat are steak, and most types of fish (salmon is okay). Italian food for the two of us, is probably a favorite. Trying to keep prices reasonable though, since I've spend almost a grand in airfare, and now am looking at just under $1,200 for hotels. We always have to hit a Greco's Pizza when we're around one (love the garlic fingers and donair sauce), and it's a bit of a let down to see there's not one in Toronto. Anything comparable? Pizza Delight wasn't bad either, but I'm not seeing any of those around Toronto. Damn!
