Just looked at the benefits for the Gourmet Club in Germany, and after a few calculations, for the dates I'm staying in Berlin it would be mad not to become a member.

Instead of EUR 235 per night I am now paying EUR 180, saving EUR 165 over 3 nights, and I'm still able to use my diamond suite upgrade certificate. Membership costs EUR 235, so for EUR 70, I will get a bottle of champagne, 50% off 12 meals and a free night certificate. Oh, and also the chance to use reduced rates again.

I have made my booking but am waiting to join so that my free night will be valid longer (no plans to be in Germany until the summer).
