YES - I am also a huge fan of Tokyo but I think this kind of "tick the sights off the list" itinerary is the perfect way to ruin one's experience of the place. What makes Tokyo special is not the well known sights and landmarks, and I think that anyone trying to get a feel for the place in this way will be underwhelmed.

On the other hand, if the objective is just to be able to tell friends who don't know much about Japan: "Oh yah. I went to Japan. Saw Tokyo. Went up to the top of a skyscraper and all that. See that cloud there? That's where Mt. Fuji would be on a clear day," then this is an adequate plan.
