Unfortunately the July period is only the time I can go since I'm taking a friend with me. Was very tempting to even make another trip earlier since there are still $1100-$1300 airfares.

Preference is Qantas due to QC access, points and SC's however seeing as low as $1400 airfares on NZ at the same time does make me consider them and also a much easier connection.
