We did that at Rome Central Park Hotel (actually now the Courtyard), but then it was obvious when checking out we had a private van taking 8 of us, we had 2 rooms booked for 2 each. The extra person rates were outrageous....front desk not happy but thats why you refuse to sign the bill
If you don't like the extra person rates that a Marriott property charges then stay elsewhere. Just because you think the charge is "outrageous" doesn't mean you're allowed to sneak in extra people and then refuse to pay the bill. Sneaking in 4 extra people is dishonest and a poor way to teach values to your family!
