I hate this airline. I fly over 100k miles a year on various airlines and have status on several airlines, including UAL (premier associate though a 1K). Somehow despite this and being *A Gold, it takes me forever to get a human being. Endless computer that won't give me an agent no matter how many times I scream "AGENT" and wants to tell me how many ....ing frequent flier miles I have, like I care. Then of course I get some nimrod in India.

I never, ever, ever call reservations unless I have an urgent problem that can't be solved online. Why UAL puts me through such hell whenever I do call is beyond me. Other airlines may be bad for no/low status, but they aren't this bad. United is clearly the worst.
