1 hour is plenty of time in PTY - CP and CO share the same gates and your connection will feel like a domestic connection: you'll walk off your CP flight right in the terminal and walk to your next gate. Very easy - which is why PTY is a great airport!

But the entire PTY airport is international, they don't do domestic from there, so really no hassles, no problems 1 hour is more than enough time.
CO was a majority owner of CM at one time, now they are a small minority stake and CM is an 'affiliate of Continental' as it says on their IFE(btw same as CO so if you have CO flights the same timeframe you will get bored, bring a book!)
