Problem is that what TSA is adding isn't security. Security theater, yes. But actual security? Hardly.
Funny thing is despite TSA's abysmal record of failure (just look at the GAO reports), planes aren't falling out of the sky. Seems like air travel is pretty safe despite TSA.
Let's also not forget that the Rx doesn't actually matter - TSA has claimed on more than one occasional that the labels and doctors' letters can be faked and they don't put much stock in them.
TSA added nothing to security in this incident. Rather than make travel safer, they directly put someone's life in danger. That's not security.
