Unfortunately the majority of the credit card companies have computers making the decisions now with humans acting as a interface. I agree with MIA your credit Utilization factor or FICO is coming into play. If you search way back you will find a Wall Street Journal article about a man who sold his company for +500 million and was rejected completely for a credit card until the news story broke. . I think he manufactured mobile homes he just did not use credit cards.
