cheap/easy Points.com suggestions for 20/20 challenge

folks, a few suggestions for using points.com as a 20/20 partner.

the key is that you only need 7 miles on America West (HP) to get the necessary 1 mile on AA through a conversion on the points.com website. so,

1. transfer 250 clickrewards to HP, then go to points.com to convert when they post.

2. sign-up a credit card at iDine-- only register it for HP. then, just buy an extra soda or dessert on it (you could even use it on the same visit you use the credit card registered for American, just "forget" you also needed the extra item after you ring-up the first!). as long as it's a buck, next month it should post as at least 10 miles with HP. then go to points.com and transfer.

3. sign-up at the shopping mall on the HP website. buy a couple of Hallmark cards with cheap shipping or something useful at one of the many stores. again, when the miles post at HP, go to points.com and transfer.

hope this helps-- remember, you're first transfer at points.com is free, so this could be a viable partner for many.
