I'm going to vote for where you want to go. The four year old wont care, as long as you do some things for his entertainment at some point.

Having said that, a canal cruise would be very cool in a 4 year old's eyes. My kids love boats.

Another priority; what to do if the weather isn't cooperating. That would be a big factor for me in choosing.
