What is the policy on lost luggage reimbursement?
I am flying from LAX to Cozumel via Atlanta (on Delta) soon and I'm putting $1000 worth of SCUBA equipment in my checked in baggage. I have no other option since I cannot possibly carry it onboard the plane! My question is, if Delta loses my bag what is the bottom line? How much will I be reimbursed? I already checked into trip insurance (there is no separate "baggage insurance") and it's $200 for the trip which is ridiculous to insure $1000 worth of stuff so that is not an option.
