I too reached Diamond status based on Surpass spend in 2009. Originally received a Diamond card with 2011 expiration date and then a few weeks later a new card with 2012 expiration date. I seem to remember a few years back many people were mailed cards with expiration dates that were incorrect. Specifically they had received cards that had a later expiration date than was in the HH system --and the HH systems date was the correct expirationdate. Has anyone confirmed with an HH representative that their 2012 expiration date shown on their card is valid? I am with the OP in that there is little incentive to use this card for most purchases if there is no need to meet a spending threshold this year.
