Last week I had a stay in a Westin which I booked through expedia site. The reason I did that was they gave out a cheaper rate then the SPG site itself, I believe the difference was about $25/day. I remember under the rate plan, it does say "qualify for hotel loyalty points".
Unfortunately now that I'm checked out, I discovered what they meant was whatever extra dollar I end up spending during my stay would quality for the SPG points, not the cost of the stay itself.
Anyway, with the 4X promotion, I earned a whopping 48 points.
Question, for the situation next time, should I get a print out from expedia and ask for the lowest price guarantee program ? or how should I proceed ?
