Schubert - if you're travelling regularly to TPE, it might be worth your while to start buying your return tickets FROM TPE to SJC. There is a fare for $1660 and that's return from TPE in Business Class. Of course, you'd have to buy a oneway from SJC to TPE and that's $1600 alone! Or else go in coach...
