I see what you mean about the number. The one legible security digit is printed differently from the sixteen digit card number. Rather than being embossed into the plastic, it sits on top of the plastic and vanishes along with the film.

I will give the PHX ATO a try with the physical card. Hopefully, they can swipe the magnetic strip and not need the secret code.
