If you mean the Surpass card, I will use it (and have already done so), but, other than earning HHonors points, I see no advantage to using it in 2010 since it won't be until 2011 that I will need to charge $40,000 in order to maintain Diamond status past April 2012. For that matter, my 2010 stays won't count toward Diamond status either since Hhonors no longer has a rollover policy. Does that clear things up?
Actually it doesnt clear anything up as far as I am concerned.
Let me get this right? You applied for the HH Surpass card and less than yeaer now you have "too many" HH points?
Now you will stay at Hilton (whether award or not) paying with another card? ...despite the fact that a) you get additional points when on a Hilton stay using the card to pay for all chargesR b) you still get 2500 points for the first eight stays charged to the card .. well you might have gotten those already. c) you get 500 points for online bookings paid by the card.. okie dokie your strategy makes perfect sense to me.
