Recommendations for gay friendly places in Toronto?

(For a little more background information on the trip, visit this link.)

Been in this long distance relationship for four years this August, met online and everything. (I guess we're a testament to the fact that both long distance relationships as well as "e-relationships" can work.) The two of us should be moving to the Toronto area some time next year, finally! Woowhoo!

Anyway, currently I have the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville Hotel booked for the 24-26th of April. We will be traveling to Niagara Falls, staying at the Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa for the 26th-28th. Then, we will be returning to the Courtyard Toronto Downtown for the 28th-2nd.

My boyfriend is certainly not a drinker, I'm even having trouble getting him to try something like a Mudslide with me. (I'm finally about to win that battle.) I'm not even really a drinker myself, I'm more in to dessert cocktails than anything. So in other words, I'm not particularly looking for gay bars, though if there is one super close, I may be able to convince him to go in with me.

He's really shy, so I've even had to test the water by asking him if he'd even walk down the street holding my hand, at least if it were in the gay district, and I'd like to see if we he would do it as he claims.

I've never been to Toronto, and although he use to live in Brantford, that was probably 10+ years ago, before even his early teens. So, we don't really know a whole lot about the city, and what to really do. So far we only have the Science Centre and Zoo slated on the list of plans, as well as Eaton Centre (I'm a shopaholic, what can I say?)

So, what do you say, any recommendations?
