I tried searching for this, but couldn't find any threads.
I'm a National Executive member from when I lived in California, but currently living in Australia. My wife and I are heading to the US next week and I need a weekly rental, preferably in an SUV (we're going skiing). Looking at different rates, I found that the international rates (saying you live in Australia) are much cheaper than the Emerald club rate. But if I enter my club number, I get the member rates. So I booked a midsize SUV without my Emerald club number.
My plan is to show up with my cheap international reservation and then say "Btw, I'm an Executive member and I'd like the benefits". I'm mostly interested in choosing a car in the Executive Aisle (if there's a car I like better) and also adding my wife as an additional driver for free.
Is there anything wrong with this ?
1) If I enter my member number on National's website, I can't get the intl rates, but
2) I can't find any rule saying this is not OK.
Thanks in advance
