I also have friends in SCL that made it back from the coast by bus and found a hotel room with little difficulty.
The lack of information on Air Canada's website as well as that provided to the agents is shocking. I only found out that EZE non-stops had resumed after speaking to Foreign Affairs in Ottawa last night.
It appears that yesterdays 763 will turn into a 77W for the next few days according to aircanada.ca but SCL is only opening with a few flights, primarily domestic arrivals with LAN from the north of the country.
Our embassy has relocated due to potential structural damage (see chile.gc.ca) and is open 8 am to 8 pm to assist Canadians and register them but at the point there is no coordinated effort to prioritize who will get out first when flights resume.
My thoughts are with those Chileans affected by this natural disaster.
