Ok so my dad purchased a First A class ticket...TPA-OMA and back for like $2000. One of the OMA-ORD legs was on an ER4 with no first class so it booked into a Y booking code in coach. Fare class is HUAUP I believe.

My question comes that the ER4 was changed to an A319 with a schedule change but his seat remained in coach. Can he call and just have it changed to first class or is there going to be an issue? I really don't understand why it didn't put him in first automatically since it was a purchased first ticket.

Thoughts? Anybody have experience with this?
