I'm pretty sure that Verve offers a free shuttle to either the 7 train at Vernon/Jackson or to Queensboro Plaza, so yes its convenient enough. The view from the roof bar is fantastic, but I'm not sure if its open year round. I'd have no fear riding the subway late at night.
