Hiring a driver for Mutianyu and the airport

This summer, I've got a 24-hour stopover in Beijing on my way elsewhere ( think it's 6 pm to 6 pm). My party includes my 9 year old daughter, who's never been to Beijing. I want to do some quick shopping that morning and then take her to Mutianyu before heading to the airport (I like taking kids to Mutuanyu because they can tobagggan down). My recollection is that a relatively-new highway has shortened the travel time to Mutianyu, and you pass the airport on your way back.

Can someone help me with the logistics? What's the travel time these days from central Beijing to Mutianyu by car? For an "efficient" but not overly rushed visit (with a togaggan ride down!), how much time do we need? Two hours there? And then how long a ride to the airport?

I'm guessing I'll need to find a particularly reliable driver, due to the fact that he'll need to keep our luggage in the car while we're at Mutianyu. Does anyone have a current recommendation? And not to revive an old (and contentious) thread, what's a fair price these days for Mutianyu? As we'd essentially pass the airport on the way back, I presume that would not raise the price, right?

Thanks for the help!
