Actually, I found the food in Y (I flew HKG-PEK-ARN v.v. in Aug '09) quite good (mainly Chinese food though).
CA is a good airline (on par with UA),
if nothing out of the ordinary (delays, cancellations) happen. A330-200s with AVOD in Y are far better though and when the 77Ws arrive, quality will further improve. FAs speak ok English and there are a few FAs (rare) from non-Chinese backgrounds as well.
