Many flights from Europe to Canada start out pointed towards the North Pole, so are unlikely to enter US airspace. It's possible, particularly from some destinations (and origins). Flights from Lisbon to Toronto might enter US airspace, but LHR to Vancouver will probably never get close (until landing.) Frankfurt to Calgary would never get close, unless there were very exceptional circumstances.
