I'm thinking CA can't be THAT bad. Sure, I've enjoyed AVOD, service, comfort on BX between SFO-TPE, and CX between SFO-HKG but I used to do BOS-HNL 2-3x a year primarily on AA (some NW, UA, CO mixed in there) all with no AVOD and no food.

CA should beat domestic experiences any day no?

I haven't tried out CA myself, but from trip reports in numerous sites including Anet, Y on CA doesn't get any positive reviews at all.

1) Combi for sure.

2) No PTV, and in one report, the screen only show flight map for the entire flight, not even movies !

Btw, SFO-TPE is BR, not BX. For sure you won't get the same experience on BR or CX, not even UA. As at least UA had updated the 744 cabin but CA has not.
