You should also look at "Main Cabin Select" on Virgin. It is often the same price as coach on UA or JetBlue, and is a far superior product to both (assuming coach on UA).
VX Regular coach maybe same price or even cheaper than UA or B6, but not for Main Cabin Select.
A random search SFO-JFK on 3/16 and return 3/17, UA is around $400, VX main cabin select is $800+. A few more inches of legroom and free food cost $400 more ? I don't think so.
