Yes and no. When printing schedules and such, noting things that start on day one and carry over into the wee hours of day two as 08:00 - 25:00 is pretty clear.
That's a great point.
The only problem I would see is that a lot of people would be totally confused by an arrival time of, say, 30:46, or -23:11 (arrival the day before departure).
