I'm on a China tour with the family. Yes, I know what we're getting into. If there isn't a Chinese tour guide standing in front of the bus, they aint going. They prefer to be herded around.

We are on CA 985 and 986.

Are the flights to and from SFO to PEK still on the Combi?

Any insight on seat pitch/comfort/condition in economy (I'm 6'2").

Any recent experiences - positive or negative?

I flew on an AA MD-80 SFO-ORD that was one of the most uncomfortable experiences in recent memory. Plane was 60% loaded and I couldn't find a comfortable seat. Upgrade list was 20 deep - I guess that wasn't a good sign.

I'm thinking CA can't be THAT bad. Sure, I've enjoyed AVOD, service, comfort on BX between SFO-TPE, and CX between SFO-HKG but I used to do BOS-HNL 2-3x a year primarily on AA (some NW, UA, CO mixed in there) all with no AVOD and no food.

CA should beat domestic experiences any day no?
